Is it a utopian thought - the desire to visit or live on Mars? Many scientists are actively working on it, trying to realize this project, and considerable resources are being exploited.

Why try to overcome and solve such challenges when vital problems are still present on  earth?

The idea of the first steps on the moon became the starting point of Maria Pol's piece. The footprint of a flip-flop (thong) symbolises two things; on one hand, the socially disadvantaged populations that are in a perpetual state of survival and, on the other hand, it stands for the determination to colonize, in this case space, which is a fundamental recurring pattern in human history. It is an allegory of the exodus of migrants in search of a better life and the quest for an extra-terrestrial future.
